With Isco54 the closest focus distance is at around 2 meters. To get closer focusing you need to use close-up filters, so called diopters. The image is also said to be more anamorphic with Iscorama when focusing farther away. The best solution for me seemed to be the 138mm round close-up filters such as Tiffen, which on used market are less than half the price of a new 4x5.25" one that you can put in the casual drop-ip filter tray. But rigging the 138mm round optics in front of the anamorphic lens was sketchy. Some use duct tape to connect any kind of 138mm filters but a more permanent solution was needed.

On matteboxes there's a holder for a donut ring, and the thickness is deep enough for a 5mm thick filter with an even thicker holder and the diameter of that "donut" space was some 150mm+ on the Lanparte Mattebox that I found for an okay deal on eBay. As that would make for a 3rd slot for a filter on that mattebox I figured it would be the best space to occupy with something that doesn't need removing most of the time (I was thinking of a Black Mist 1/8 for that slot but Iscorama has a misty softening feel to it by itself so no softening filters are needed I think, unless for a special glow ofc). I can now use the two tray slots for actual filters while still using a close-in filter in between the filters and the lenses.
