Boxing round between cat and dog

As funny as a cat standing up on his hind legs looks, the origin of the move is serious business. When cats feel threatened by a devious predator, they will often attempt to make themselves appear as large as possible. Perching up on the back legs is part of this survival tactic. In extreme cases, you might even see cats shuffling along sideways while in this upright position, which is another attempt to look as large and fearful as possible. Dog, do not mess with a cat on his hind legs!

The popular phrase 'fight like cat and dog' couldn't be further from the truth. This video reflects the commonly held belief that dogs and cats just can't get along because they are natural enemies. People who share their homes with both species know that this is not true. Dogs and cats can form fast friendships. It is life experiences with members of the other species, and not an inborn animosity, that determines how cats and dogs feel about each other.
