20210110 Censorship - Segment II - The Daily Summation

I've yet to have one of my social media accounts suspended. That's not horribly surprising, considering my reach is pretty short.

That said, it's roundly amazing to me, that so many people have had that happen, and for apparently comparatively minor reasons.

We're certainly hitting our stride now though. I had already heard news that Parler was having its apps removed from the Apple and Google Play stores.

Wait! We haven't hit bottom yet. Now Amazon is stepping into the situation as well.

How? They've decided to "deplatform" Parler (or at least to attempt to do so), by refusing to honor a contractual obligation with them to provide service.

I wish this was surprising to me, but it's not.

Hopefully, Parler will find a suitable hosting service to replace AWS. As for me, where I'll almost certainly have to do so, I have no desire to have anything further to do with Amazon (any part of that company).

I'd already made a conscious effort, to stop buying things on their platform (still have done once or twice, but trying to remove even that).

I'll probably have to work with them on behalf of clients (though I hope not).

All of this considered, I think it's time to step away wherever possible.

I have a Parler, a Rumble, and a Minds.com account.

I still have my YouTube, Facebook and Twitter, but I seldom use them at all.

Be warned, things are bound to get worse.
