Shoo Fly Introduction

Mrs. Falosk teaches the song "Shoo Fly.' Some songs tell us about what is happening during a particular time period. For instance, the song "Shoo Fly" was written during the end of the Civil War 1861-1865. It was first published in 1869 and was sung during the Spanish American War because Yellow Fever was so bad. Yellow Fever was spread by mosquitoes or the "fly" of the song.
