Blooms Using Winsor & Newton Drawing Inks
Winsor & Newton drawing inks are colored using dye instead of pigment (which makes them nice and bright), they have a lovely shellac binder, and they dry pretty fast, too. The drawing inks can be used alone or mixed with other drawing inks, and they can also be diluted with water, which makes this medium the PERFECT choice for this technique that uses multiple layers, with each layer increasing in saturation.
This little piece is actually the subject matter for an upcoming national online class through Winsor & Newton and Michaels Stores that I will be teaching. It will take place on February 9, 2021 from 2pm to 3pm EST, and this class will teach you how to create and layer drawing inks to create the above bloom (we will actually create a composition of 3 blooms in the class). This is going to be a fun class, and I can promise you that I have this layering thing down to a science!
This class is *FREE* to take, and you can find the class and sign up for it by going here: https://www.michaels.com/onlineclasses
