Mark Vosti Swim Video
A swim video I did for Mark Vosti of Team Zoot. Things I pick out for him to work on:
1. Keep the breath in sync with the shoulder rotation to avoid "last minute" neck jerking.
2. Round the shoulders forward a little more to avoid legs sinking. By rounding the back overall, the hips/legs follow suit and float upward in the water.
3. Work on catching the water earlier rather than pushing water down a foot and a half and THEN catching the water. Using the "Thumb Tracing" drill will help catch water earlier and then propel it backwards.
4. Work on breathing bilaterally and/or every fourth stroke to increase your lung capacity in the water.
Dryland items to work on:
1. Get stretch cords and work on mimicing the pull out of water and focus on "strength" during the entire pull.
2. Stretch upward in a streamline position to help understand how to be "flat" on top of the water.
3. Do superman kick drills to help reign in the kick amplitude to about 12" total.
The stroke recovery is amazing and I wouldn't change a thing.
