Ok this question will probably cause a knee jerk reaction. But once you hear the question, think it through. Who has done more for humanity, Mother Teresa orrrr Bill Gates.
Hands down Bill Gates has done way more. Know this is not a salvation question or issue, but then again… How many churches, missionaries, christian schools, ministries, etc… use Microsoft products to further the kingdom? Maybe inadvertently Bill has more salvations to his business that Mother Teresa and Billy Graham combined, just maybe.
I believe that Entrepreneurship is the greatest form of ministry. You provide a great product or service to those that NEED and WANT it. They reward you with a currency. That currency allows you to provide an income to employees, those that you purchase equipment from, the piano teacher for your kiddos, the grocer and so on. A traditional ministry nowadays provides a great service, but has to ask for finances to keep doing what they do. What if that ministry needs to give a word of correction in love? Most of the time they can’t for fear of the money leaving. Please don’t tell me this doesn’t happen. I’ve seen this happen first hand many times… It’s sad. (And if your church doesn’t follow this theme that is GREAT!) But if you have an income you are not at the mercy of the donors... If the finances shrink up, the ministry struggles. Not to say that this doesn’t happen to entrepreneurs, the main difference is, the ministry solely depends on others to give, when an entrepreneur has control of his choices to change where the problem lies.
This falls in the 8 levels of Tzedakah (charity). (Link to Tzedakah Vid) The highest is teaching and supporting one to go into business themselves. The other 7 still need to be done, but the greatest impact is entrepreneurship.
So today really think about the good that your business does. Be proud to further the kingdom with your business and being able to send missions or bibles or start schools. It is up to entrepreneurs to spearhead this. I’m going to use the word Josh Tolley coined. You are an “Evangelpreneur”! I will dive into that term a little more in my next video.
