Drive by salute to past Madera County Sheriff Ed Bates on his 95th birthday.
A three term elected Sheriff, special agent and polygraph examiner Fraud and Arson detail, 7 year detective sergeant, taught criminology at Cal State Fresno. Ten years with the Navy 1942-1952 joining when he turned 17 because he couldn't get in the Marines before that so he was a Merchant Marine at 16 and had steered a ship loaded up with dynamite in the Caribbean.
