Welcome to Birds in picture show. ... Camera follows red kite because it flies to right, with evergreen forest in background.
The Woodcock is that the world's slowest flight bird. It flies at just 5 mph and has also 360 degree vision.
With planes and birds alike, there's a way to land safely: decrease lift and increase drag. A bird will stop flapping its wings (decreasing thrust, and thus lift) and angle its wings with great care on create enough drag to hamper. It then delicately uses its wings to guide itself where it wants to land.
