CIA Drug Trafficking Allegations
Committee members heard testimony concerning allegations that the Central Intelligence Agency facilitated the introduction and spread
of crack cocaine in U.S. urban areas in order to fund Contra
activities in Nicaragua.
Representative Millender-McDonald testified that the report by the CIA Inspector-General was incorrect
and that the committee must pursue its own investigation of the
matter to uncover those responsible for this activity.

Inspector-General Hitz outlined his office’s report which finds no
evidence of any links between the CIA and drug traffickers in Central America.

Gary Webb was found with two gun shots to the back of his head.
