God Doesn't Care About Your Excuses: How to Become a Morning Person

REFLECTIONS ON GROWING UP:

Are you a “morning person” or not? How is that determined. David speaks of how getting up at 4:30 a.m., every morning, no matter the weather---often a challenge in Kansas—taught him to become a “morning person”.

This led to discussion of how persons are “programmed” to arrive for work, a social engagement, or, whatever, early, exactly on time, or late and be altogether unaware the outworking of their schedule is the result of an unconscious choice.

At what point might it be our responsibility to say something for unacceptable behavior. It depends. Consider the responsibility God laid on the prophet Ezekiel: “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me. When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand” (Ezekiel 3:17 & 18).

From the pattern for Ezekiel it can be said it’s the relationship we have with others that determines our responsibility (keep in mind all the while we’re to help a person grow up). Here are some examples: parent to child; teacher to class; pastor to congregation; a city or county commissioner to their electorate. The point to keep in mind that responsibility attends the one with the greater responsibility.

The one in charge is not to take that responsibility lightly because ultimately you’re helping someone “grow up” or, take responsibility for his or her actions.
