Governor Brian P. Kemp@GovKemp
Lucy and I had a great time at the @WhiteHouse Christmas Party today. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Her [Lucy Kemp] boyfriend was literally just blown up. This makes me feel like I did when Joe was parading his granddaughter around RIGHT after Hunter's laptop came out. The one where Hunter was having sex with his niece, Beau's daughter, on it.

It took me a while to figure this out, but the WH Xmas party was LAST week, Dec. 11, 8 days ago; and DJT didn't even attend! Why are they all writing about Gov. Kemp being at this party a week after the fact? Plus those doctored photos w/ Lucy.

Celine Castronuovo is a multimedia journalist pursuing a career as an international human rights reporter. Her journalism career began as a reporter for the GW Hatchet in 2016. Celine graduated from the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs in 2020, receiving a Bachelor's Degree with Special Honors in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in International Affairs through the Elliott School. Throughout her time working for publications and nonprofit organizations, she has focused on using creative storytelling to highlight the work of individuals and organizations in order to empower people to initiate meaningful change in their communities.

Throughout her time at GW, Celine developed her interests in human rights and social justice while writing for various student publications. As a metro news staffer at The GW Hatchet, Celine reported on D.C. crime, legislation for sexual assault survivors and homelessness, which allowed her to interview various leaders of the D.C. community. As a co-editor of the international section for MediaFile, Celine conducted significant research and analysis on international press freedom and media censorship in various countries, including Russia, Egypt and China. Celine most recently served as MediaFile's editor-in-chief and led the editorial staff in publishing opinion pieces after major media events, including coverage on the El Paso and Dayton shootings, and oversaw a plan to increase recruitment and engagement at GW and other campuses across the country.

Celine has also expanded her work to strategic communication and graphic design through her role as the assistant director of public relations for the Washington Area Model United Nations Conference (WAMUNC), an annual Model UN conference for 1500+ high schoolers from around the world hosted by the GW International Affairs Society. Celine helped the director of public relations run a successful social media campaign leading up to and during the 20th anniversary conference in March 2018, which helped gain hundreds of new followers.

Recently, Celine worked at the Voice of America News Center in D.C., where she started off as a social media intern and was eventually promoted to a part-time social media producer position. In these roles, Celine created videos, graphics, photo galleries and other multimedia content to increase engagement among millions of followers on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. Celine's skills allowed her to lead various projects, including an Instagram story profiling each of the 2020 U.S. Democratic candidates and an IGTV video on the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Mission.

Prior to this, Celine was the national desk intern at CBS News in D.C., where she contributed to reporting by logging speeches, assisting with interviews on Capitol Hill and traveling with crews to cover events throughout D.C. During the internship, Celine also received live, on-camera standup training, which helped improve her public speaking and interpersonal skills.

Celine also worked as a summer communications intern at the National Juvenile Justice Network (NJJN) in D.C., producing newsletters, social media content and videos for NJJN and their coalition organizations. During the organization's annual forum, Celine started the #FacesofForum social media campaign, highlighting the work of young youth advocates. Celine also put together research reports on how to improve NJJN's social media presence. CeCe1_edited.jpg

At the GW School of Media and Public Affairs, Celine expanded her skills as a multimedia journalist. Through news writing classes, Celine developed an advanced proficiency in AP Style and wrote stories on social justice issues in D.C., including an investigative pieces on the unsolved transgender homicides in the District and the disproportionate use of force on African-American subjects by the Metropolitan Police Department.

In video and web production classes, Celine produced videos using Adobe Premiere Pro software, infographics using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and animations using Adobe After Effects. Celine has also taken online courses on HTML and CSS coding.

Celine’s diligence in her work allowed her to receive the Dean’s List recognition each semester during her time at GW. In the Spring 2018 and 2019 semesters, Celine was recognized as a GW Outstanding Academic Achievement Awardee.

During the Fall 2018 semester, Celine studied abroad in Strasbourg, France, home to the European Court of Human Rights, to learn more about international standards on human rights and how to promote these ideals through interstate interactions.

In the Spring of 2020, Celine received first place for SMPA's Essary Writing Prize, which is awarded each year to a student who has given a promise of "sound citizenship" and ability in "forthright reporting." That same year, Celine was also one of three recipients of the Dorothy and Will Roberts Prize, which honors graduating seniors who have demonstrated "academic achievement, professional promise and community service."

Celine currently resides in Washington, D.C.
