In this video I show you how to achieve the classic glassy 80's clean tone you hear in everything from Def Leppard, to Satriani and Prince. I'm using parts from an upcoming song release to show you the recording and mixing techniques.
You're hearing strictly camera audio. The tracks in this video used my Chellee Echo (ash body with a maple neck and board) guitar equipped with Bare Knuckle Pickups (Irish tour singles, and Holy Diver in the bridge).
It's being sent through a Chellee Compy compressor, a Radial JDV DI, an Apogee Symphony, and then into Logic. I use a Radial JCR reamp DI to add outboard wet chorus effects (Strymon Mobius).
