Harry James (1916-1983) was one of the leading band leaders and trumpet players in jazz during the Big Band era. He continued leading his Harry James Big Band until his death in 1983.

In the 1970's the Harry James Big Band made some first rate recordings with Sheffield Labs: The King James Version (1976) and Comin' From A Good Place (1977) were both recorded on 29 & 30 July 1976 and released as two separate vinyl LP's. Both were limited editions on vinyl but are still available on CD and iTunes through Sheffield Labs.

The audio here is taken from a 1977 German pressing of the original Sheffield Labs vinyl LP, which I bought when it was first released in 1977.
