'2021 is literally going to be catastrophic,' UN World Food director predicts severe shortages

The executive director of the United Nations World Food Program has warned that 270 million people are “marching to the brink of starvation.”
 
On Friday David Beasley, formerly a Republican governor of South Carolina, presented his findings to the U.N. General Assembly during a special session dedicated to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
