Output resolutions of micro hdmi port on GoPro Hero7 in various recording resolutions
No sound, just visual information.
I connected a GoPro Hero7 Black to a Decimator MD-HX to determine the output resolutions while recording and not recording. What sparked this research was an event where I was using the cams with a BlackMagic Design ATEM HD. My goal was to simultaneously record on each GoPro's memory card while feeding the ATEM with the 1080p signal from the micro hdmi port. The problem was that when I hit record on the GoPros while trying to record 4K, I would lose video out of the micro hdmi port. This video explains why and displays what happens to the resolutions and frame rates in all the resolutions and frame rates available on the camera when you hit the record button on the GoPro Hero7 Black. When not recording the output is 1920x1080p59.94, no matter what you have the camera set at. On the split screen left side you will see a screen capture of the Decimator GUI and on the right side you will see a screen capture of my ipad connected to the GoPro as I go through changing the resolutions and hit record to determine the output resolution.
