The UK approved Pfizer's Covid 19 vaccine today, so what's up with the US FDA?

The UK approved Pfizer's Covid 19 vaccine today (Dec. 2nd), so why won't the US FDA not even meet until Dec. 10th to review Pfizer's application? Pfizer submitted their application since Nov. 20th.
