People Want Simple Answers: A Response to Ellen and Dan Reynolds

A response video to Ellen and an interview she did with Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. They talk about how people feel shame from the Mormon church, they cite a study of youth suicide in Utah, and because people want simple answers they make some pretty harsh and unfair criticisms, like how believers don’t think for themselves. In my opinion, pointing fingers hurts more than helps and it’s a false binary to choose between your religion and your kids. I don’t think it’s a good idea for people to say they ‘don’t need people who don’t support me’ - love doesn’t mean acceptance in every aspect, but it does mean nobody gets left behind. I just hope we could blame others less and take more time to show we care.
