Russian scientists are creating a treatment for Coronavirus that uses ultraviolet light.

Physicista at the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering are developing the light work methods of disinfecting the body inside using the UV light to combat some Covid-19 virus. They call the project ‘luminous gas.’

"So far, no one has managed to hold UV disinfection inside a person," said Andrei Goverdovsky from Country Rosatom. "We figured out how to do this. We select molecules and gas components that when inhaled remain activated and emit ultraviolet light directly in the lungs. We hope that in addition to coronavirus, our method [can be used to] treat tuberculosis, oncology and other diseases."

This is the stuff that President Trump mentioned in the press briefing moments before his controversial injections statement.

The idea of using UV light to treat viruses is a concept also in research stages at Cedars-Sinai, LA, and pharmaceutical company Aytu BioScience.

After the press briefing a statement was released by the non-profit organization proclaiming they mean to develop "a technology that harnesses intermittent ultraviolet. A light for treating viruses and bacteria."

Mark Pimentel, leading researcher at Cedars-Sinai, calling their technology Healight, said, "Our team has shown that administering a specific spectrum of UV-A light can eradicate viruses in infected human cells (including coronavirus) and bacteria in the area while preserving healthy cells."
