Fiber optic fabric that lights up clothing is a thing. It’s expensive. A hoodie might run up $300.

The technology is available, as seen with LumiGram by Chief fashion designer for several houses in Paris France, Jacquline.

The fiber optic clothing is made of ultra-thin optical fibers that are processed in order to allow light to be emitted along the length of the fibers. Embedded at the borders of the fabric are ultra-bright LEDs injecting light into the fabric.

Lumi envisions the applicability of light up clothe for clothes, home decor, interior architecture, stage decoration, luxury boat or car decoration, furniture, and special stuff, probably bicyclists and city workers would love this stuff. It’d make a good outfit to take to goth prom.

Fashion designers are just getting started with fiber optic fabric DIY projects. Find some on Amazon, or Alibaba, or Zazzle, it’s all there.
