32 years later, Scott Page, Pink Floyd sax guru who shot this sent me a copy...I had kept in touch with him over the years, he kept promising when he got the tapes digitized, he would get me a copy... a man of his word, really cool he remembered a couple fans all these years later... the thumbnail picture my buddy snapped, was all i had for 30 years- a lot of folks I think thought it was fake :)
This all started with buddy Steve suggesting I put a 'pig' on my r/c heli for a local radio contest- maybe win some front row seats...Wayne Isham was out and saw us(he filmed all their shows that year) and security said I couldnt fly it...hes like 'f*** him, fly it anyway', i didnt want any trouble, so hes like 'dude, im with the band, meet me at the stage ramp in 5 minutes'... OK :) he comes out, asks me if he can take it in to show security- sure... he goes in, door clicks shut- Steve looks at me dumbfounded-'i cant believe you just handed a stranger a thousand dollar helicopter!' he came right back out, we took it in and pulled some seats from mif/front row, fired up, hovered it around in front of the stage a couple hours before the show... I landed it and there was cheers/applause from stage guys around/up in the ceiling- i felt ten feet tall...Wayne says 'Gilmours gotta see this thing- he loves ANYTHING that flies...' a half hour before the show, he brought Dave Gilmour and Scott Page out with some of the crew and i hovered it around a bit- some of the tape is missing- i distinctly remember Scott walking right up to it and filming down into the blades- with 4' long hair- really scared me as I zoomed away LOL. Anyways was a perfect day, one I will never forget. got to meet them, fly twice, and front row center seats(ironically same ones we had moved hours earlier... Cant thank Scott enough for finally digging this up :)
