The Acorn and the Evergreens - An Autistic Child's Story

This is a story I wrote that was inspired by my own life experiences and parallels so many other adults I have met that are also late diagnosed with and Autism Spectrum Disorder. We all remember how difficult it was as children, feeling different, being treated differently and not understanding why. It is a story I hope will inspire young autistic children and adults. But also help children and adults who are not autistic to understand what that autistic friend, student, or neighbor might be feeling. To understand that being autistic is our normal way of being. That we are different than each other and our differences can be a very positive thing.
