In this comprehensive and exhaustive techtorial on Packet Tracer activity 2.7.1 (Single-Area OSPFv2 Configuration Challenge) it is time to buckle your OSPF chinstrap as we take a deep dive into the the new Cisco Networking Academy CCNAv7 Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA) course curriculum! In this techtorial you will learn how to take all of the knowledge from the previous OSPF Packet Tracer activities (and Chapter #2 of the course text!) and implement an OSPFv2 routing domain. You will definitely need your OSPF tool box and all of its tools for this activity! You will be asked to configure OSPF Router ID (RID) values, OSPF priority values, enable OSPF on interfaces both through the 'ip ospf' command and through the use of the 'network' command, you will enable passive interfaces on LAN-facing interfaces, create a default static route and then originate that default static route into your OSPF routing domain, and much more! I will even go over the error in this activity where you are asked to use the 'auto-cost reference-bandwidth' command so that GigabitEthernet interfaces have a cost of 10 and FastEthernet interfaces have a cost of 100 and explain how/why the grading engine gets this wrong. This techtorial/Packet Tracer activity is all done running Packet Tracer version 7.3.0 which was just released this week and is the MINIMUM version you can use for any of the new CCNAv7 curriculum activities! Be sure to leave your feedback and questions below and I hope I have earned the privilege of your time! Enjoy!
