2 VEHICLE ACCIDENT HOSPITALIZES 1, LIVINGSTON, TEXAS 11/23/20

Accident Hospitalizes 1, LIVINSTON, November 23, 2020 - At approximately 10:35 am on November 23, 2020, a pickup driven by Adolfo Perez, 39, of Rosenburg, was pulling a trailer that was loaded with lawn service equipment was north-bound on US-59 (about a mile north of the Goodrich Truckstop). Perez was slammed from behind by the a blue 2010 Hyundai Accent, driven by Jeromy Heath Nelson, 40, of Livingston. The impact caused Nelson lose control as his vehicle entered the center median where it came to rest. Perez's vehicle came to a stop on the pavement. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corporal Ramey Bass and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Perez appeared to be in pain and was kneeling not wanting to stand up. Nelso was physically okay. Perez was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. One lane of traffic on the north-bound side was blocked during investigation and cleanup. Nelson was cited for failure to control speed, while Perez was cited for no driver's license. Perez's pickup and trailer were recovered by Ken's Towing and will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston. Nelson's vehicle was recovered by Dan's Towing and will be stored in Livingston.
