Woman only found out she died during boob op weeks later.

A woman who flew to Turkey for a cut-price boob job later discovered she’d ‘died’ and been resuscitated during the procedure – although nobody involved told her.

Lisa MacDonald, 47, had paid £4,300 for a ‘mummy makeover’, which included a boob lift, implants and liposuction, plus flights and a week’s stay at a hotel in Istanbul. She arrived in Turkey with her sister Sacha, 41, who paid £5,200 for the same procedures, plus a tummy tuck.

They had found the Avrupamed clinic on Instagram, and before flying out they chatted to former clients who strongly recommended the surgeons. These later turned out to be fake accounts.

Lisa and Sacha were then stunned to arrive at a ‘Third World’ clinic that was ‘cold and dark’, with the floor covered in sheets. Lisa said the bed looked like it had been ‘cobbled together from planks of wood’, and she claimed was tied down with some ‘old rope’ during the operation.

She told The Sun: ‘It was scary but we’d paid so felt like we had to go through with it. When I came round, I was in agony. My chest was incredibly painful and I was struggling to breathe.

They put us in a little room and just left us there. We had no pain relief, no consultation, not even basic fluids. I couldn’t even get off the bed so I was having to go to the toilet into a towel.

‘I was throwing up but no one came to clean up. I believed I was going to die. Little did I know that I already had.’

After the procedure, medics told Lisa her pain was ‘normal’. The sisters then FaceTimed their mum, a hospital worker, and she connected them with other staff, who advised them to get home as soon as possible.

Three weeks later, after she arrived back in the UK, Lisa collapsed at home in Maidenhead, Berks, and was told at Wexham Park Hospital she had contracted sepsis.

Doctors also discovered her ribs were ‘completely fractured’, from where she had been given CPR after ‘dying’ during the surgery. They told her she had just 12 hours to live unless her implants were removed.
