Castle Tour Fixer Upper - Chris sank in mud - Hungry trees

Welcome back friends. We start off here at the upper parking lot of the #RamapoMountainStateForest in Ringwood, #NJ. The trail started off nice and wide because Chris took a wrong turn but the real trail (the red trail) was covered in #leaves and very difficult to follow. It was so bad, the trees were eating the signs!!! The trail for most of the early section, was small rocks covered by leaves and it was important to tread #cautiously. Then, after taking some time we came to a stream and Ola almost #fell into it. It took 5 minutes for her to cross :). After crossing an access road in the park, the trail lead us up hill until we came to some beautiful views and the gem we were looking for, the #castle. We can only imagine how beautiful it was back in the day as it could have 360 degree views. The #ruins themselves are very large and you can get a feel for what it could have looked like in its #prime. We took time there to browse and then continued on the white trail. It lead us briefly to another access road that was complete #mud and where Chris #sunk into it with his shoes. He tried to wash it off before getting his feet wet in the process. So, continuing on, we came across a tree with tons of holes in it from #squirrels or #woodpeckers. Finally, Chris showed us his wet shoe walk before we finished the trail back at the lot.
