Hebrews Chapter 7 - The Perfect Priesthood

This is an expository study of Hebrews Chapter 7. In Chapter 7, we finally dive into the topic of Melchizedek. We will discuss in some detail the significance of Abraham giving a tithe to Melchizedek and the blessing Abraham received from Melchizedek. We will discuss Melchizedek as a Biblical Type which points to Jesus Christ. This has significant ramifications on the Old Testament Covenant (the Law) as well as modern day Priests. Being a priest in the order according to Melchizedek limits who can be a priest to only Jesus Christ. The limitation to only Jesus is an effort to draw mankind closer to God.
