Charles "Professor X" was shot in the spine by a bullet fired by Moira and deflected by Eric "Magneto." This is from the Cuban beach scene of X-Men: First Class. The suit was meant to keep them from being riddled by bullets, and I explain how his spine was broken in a bulletproof vest.
