Materials: a rubber band, paper, pen, pencils or markers or use index cards instead.
A sentence is like a rubber band. You can add or change words to make it clear and interesting. Let's stretch these sentences to see who or what is doing something.
1. It opened. The door opened The curtain opened The window opened
2.They yelled. My friends yelled. The class yelled Mark yelled.
3. He is swimming. John is swimming My brother is swimming Dad is swimming
4. They all clapped. The audience clapped The children clapped The teachers clapped
5. She yawned. My sister yawned Donna yawned My mother yawned
Keep your child's responses to build up a reference resource to use when writing in the future.
