Islamic State claims responsibility for Vienna attack
Islamic State has posted a statement claiming responsibility for the Vienna attack, along with a photograph of a bearded man identified as "Abu Dagnah Al-Albany" who is believed to have carried out the attack. The statement reads (Arabic): "30 people were killed or injured in Vienna, including an officer and policemen, in a firearm attack carried out by a fighter from the Islamic State in the city of Vienna. Security sources informed Amaq that the fighter from the Islamic State attacked a crowd in the centre of Vienna with a firearm and a machine gun, then clashed with police. Around 30 people were shot or injured including members of police, before the perpetrator of the attack was killed during the same night by Austrian police." Video: Reuters
