NOTES: Archived interview with Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson days before their Roll the Bones tour. Alex is one of my favorite all-time guitarists and it was so cool to speak with him. Mercury Records gave me 15 minutes and Alex gave me 45 minutes. Of the dozens (over a hundred) of interviews I did back in the day this was my favorite for sure.
We discussed the state of Rush at the time, the album Roll the Bones, his progression as a guitarist, his gear, the Hemispheres tour, his favorite and least favorite Rush albums, his style as a guitarist, his influences, Caress of Steel, his proudest compositions, and much more!
