For the third year, Cape Town Carnival, in partnership with ASLA, took in unemployed youth to be part of the design and production of the festival. ASLA, a construction company is sponsoring the project, and this year 10 young unemployed adults travel each morning from Riviersonderend to come and gain vital work experience. The youth who are taking part in this project will be designing and producing colourful head gear which will be given to VIP guest at the festival. The group of young adults who were involved in the project last year are all employed today. On 21 March 2020, the Cape Town Carnival will bring art, passion, music and magic to the streets of Green Point, Cape Town. From marimba to marabi, uhadi to riel, this years’ theme, Incredible Journey: Sounds of South Africa, showcases the sounds, music, dance and art of our country, each of which is so powerful and distinct it connects us to our past, our future, our country, and each other. video: Henk Kruger/African News Agency(ANA) (v5V)
