Shiraaz Mohamed is seen in a video that was uploaded to YouTube on the 4th of May 2019. Photo-journalist Shiraaz Mohamed was captured in 2017 in Syria after travelling there to take pictures to narrate the plight of the Syrian people. The last video of Mohamed surfaced on 13 April 2019 and depicted Mohamed being held in captivity and pleading for assistance from the South African government as the Russians were bombing Syria and encroaching closer to where he was being held hostage.
