Rental properties in the City of Las Vegas will now have to undergo routine inspections to make sure they are safe. The Las Vegas City Council just passed the multi-family risk reduction program. This comes months after a devastating fire destroyed the Alpine Motel Apartments and killed 6 people. Because of the tragedy officials want to make sure these types of buildings are up to code. The program also informs tenants and property managers on steps they can take to reduce the risk of fires.
