Domestic or domestic cattle are the most common domesticated ungulate. They are the strikingly modern representative of the Bovinae subfamily, and are the most common species of the genus Cow, belonging to the species Bos primigenius. Cows are raised as cattle for meat (beef and veal), as dairy cows for milk and other daily products, and as draft animals. Some products of cow origin include leather and manure used as organic fertilizer or fuel. In some countries, like India, cows play an important role in religion. About 80 domesticated cattle ancestors in southeast Turkey 10,500 years ago, there are currently about 1.3 billion cows in the world.
