Heat Advisory in effect for Northern Erie, Niagara, Orleans, and Genesee Counties through Friday evening. We have tied our high of 90 degree days streak at 7 straight. Thursday the Buffalo Airport topped out at 98F which takes the record from 1988 with a temperature of 92F. Lake Erie at 76 degrees is a new record for Thursday, July 9th The 90s will continue as humidity levels stay high sending the heat index to near 100F over much of the area again Friday. Another round of scattered T-Storms will develop on Friday as the hot & humid air could take the 90 streak to 8 in a row. The weekend will bring some relief from the intense heat as a front crosses WNY along with showers/T-Storms dropping daytime highs back closer to 80 degrees to finish out the weekend.
