When the Coronavirus clobbered the local theatre community Randy Kramer of Musicalfare Theatre in Amherst says that after the initial shock "It was time to go to work and try to figure out how we could be relevant in this brand new environment." Randy and his staff transformed the theatre's Premiere Cabaret into a TV studio and started offering live streaming entertainment. The first performance was Randy and his wife Teresa Quinn performing on the piano. Randy says they had over a thousand paying customers for their first show but the experience was a bit strange without a live in-house audience. Viewers were encouraged to dress up and order food for take-out from their favorite restaurant. Randy says "we encouraged them to take selfies and post them then we showed them during the show". The next live streaming performance is a Tribute to The Everly Brothers and the Beatles Thursday night June 18th at 7:30 PM the cost is $10.00. To see the show to can go to the Musicalfare website to buy tickets.
