Toykyo was supposed to host the Summer Olympics in July 2020 but now it might be rescheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced the Olympics would be held “by the summer of 2021.” According to Allure, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carli Lloyd was set to compete in the Olympics for soccer. Lloyd said while she was disappointed about the changes, she’s “thankful” they were delayed and not cancelled. She said: “Our team has been playing very well under our new head coach Vlatko, and I knew we would go into the Olympics prepared and ready.”
