"Discover Waukesha" with a Look Back in History
Last year, 233 students from five Waukesha County schools came together to participate in SHARP Literacy's Young Authors' Workshop and Illustrators Workshops. Together they researched book facts, created illustrations and joined forces to help create SHARP's 15th "We Love to Learn" book, Discover Waukesha. Today we are joined by Lynda Kohler, the President/CEO of SHARP Literacy, who shares the unique way this book came to be and what it means to the community. Discover Waukesha is available for purchase now! For more information, visit SharpLiteracy.com. SHARP Literacy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Milwaukee nonprofit educational program whose mission is to partner with educators to foster a love of learning and advance children’s futures through innovative STEAM-based experiences and programs. The primary goal of SHARP Literacy is to provide elementary school students with an imaginative learning experience that builds confidence, self-esteem, and a greater awareness of the world. This year SHARP Literacy, Inc. will impart foundational literacy skills to over 8,500 elementary school students and educators in 40 of Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties’ most at-risk schools.
