Mandatory evacuations for Santa Ana River bottom fire in Norco

Mandatory evacuations were ordered Tuesday, March 3, as a wind-driven fire broke out along the Santa Ana River bottom in Norco.

The Mann fire was reported at 9:51 a.m. and quickly grew from an estimated 10-to-15 acres to about 100 acres shortly after 11 a.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation. No home losses were reported. About 210 firefighters aided by three helicopters were fighting the fire.
