Activists set up a blockade on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the intersection of Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue in support of the Wet'suwet'en First Nation protests. They are fighting construction of a gas pipeline on indigenous land and according with the activist it seems the Chiefs never ceded land and thus still control it.
“Wetʼsuwetʼen are a First Nations people who live on the Bulkley River and around Burns Lake, Broman Lake, and Francois Lake in the northwestern Central Interior of British Columbia, Canada. The name they call themselves, Wetʼsuwetʼen, means "People of the Wa Dzun Kwuh River” which is Bulkley River”. Wikipedia.
