"Rise Of Skywalker" Earns Less That Predecessor

"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" earned an estimated $176 million at the domestic box office this weekend.
That figure marks the third-best opening of the year.
It is also the third-best opening for the month of December.
However. it's below the openings of the previous "Star Wars" films "The Last Jedi" and "The Force Awakens."
For a "Star Wars" saga $176 million is underwhelming.
The low box office is an indication audiences may be tiring with the Star Wars franchise.
