Driver Has Bonnet Up For 9 Miles To Avoid Breakdown Fee

This footage shows a motorist who drove with his bonnet up for nine miles after a temporary fix that involved strapping a spare battery to the engine.

The bizarre stunt, which authorities say was done to avoid calling breakdown services when the first battery failed, was seen on the streets of Taiyuan, capital of North China’s Shanxi Province.

CCTV footage from the city’s South Middle Ring Street shows the white saloon car travelling among heavy traffic with its bonnet fully up.
