Former American Idol contestant Antonella Maria Barba has been sentenced to 45 months in prison.
Barba was convicted for possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute 400 grams or more of the substance.
CNN reports that the 32-year-old was arrested in Norfolk, New Jersey for possessing 830.9 grams of Fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a dangerous and powerful synthetic opioid that has seen a sharp rise in recent years.
Barba was a contestant in the sixth season of American Idol which aired in 2007.
