Motorcyclist killed in crash near Rampart, Summerlin Parkway

One 48-year-old woman is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle on Rampart Boulevard around 12:30 p.m., according to police. Authorities say the motorcycle she was riding was hit by a 2017 Hyundai near Canyon Run. The rider was transported to UMC Trauma where she was pronounced dead. The 63-year-old driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and she was not impaired, police say. The motorcycle rider's death marks the 87th traffic related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2019. The crash remains under investigation.
