Last look at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery before it closes for two years
There are just days left until the Albright-Knox Art Gallery closes the doors for two years. The museum will undergo a transformation that will provide an additional 30,000 square feet of space, underground parking and an indoor Town Square. Communications Director Maria Morreale says that while the building will close, the work of the museum continues "a lot of the work that goes on in the museum goes on behind the scenes and that work will continue, and we're going to open big in 2021". Over the next two years the museum will continue it's community outreach with their Art Truck, Public Art Initiative and the Albright-Knox Northland. There are just days left to catch the latest installation from artist Anthony McCall called 'Dark Rooms-Solid Light'. The artwork is created by light and mist and according to Curator of Public Art Aaron Ott "it's one of the first times we've done a single artist throughout the entire 1905 building and the first solo exhibition for this artist." The museum will close Sunday November 3rd. There are extended hours Friday and Saturday. You can get more information at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery website.
