Canadian girl witnesses hockey fight for the first time
This Canadian girl went to her first hockey game, for which she was very excited, but something unexpected happened, the players fell with fists and the girl was totally incredulous of what her eyes saw. This sport that fascinates many people can sometimes become violent, but it's something you don't know when it's going to happen. Surely this girl will not forget her first hockey game and her face says it all.
The question should be why they let fight in the NHL rather than why they hit in the NHL, since what stops fights in other sports and leagues is sanction, no doubt. Does anyone believe that many of the football players would not like to challenge each other with blows? If they don't, it's because only elbowing, hard innings, stomping are "allowed" (little or no sanction)... Not all of these attitudes are intentional, but the percentage of those that are is is increasing annually. This shows that they would really like to get involved in blows with more than one of their rivals and it is understandable to know how in many ways several matches are heated up before the start and it gets warmer with the logical frictions of any contact sport, and even in those where there is no contact; it will not be the first match that ends with a manifest enmity (or at least bad atmosphere) between two tennis players or dart players, for example.
In spite of what has been said, violence will not be justified in any area, although those who write here acknowledge that they would rather see one player hitting another than witnessing the pathetic scene of that player pretending or doing theatre when this is not his known profession. The reasoning behind this statement is as simple as that the fight can be understood from various points of view, while the simulation is only understandable from the pretense of committing an infraction, cheating, when the sport should reign fairplay.
Hits and the fight for the puck: a reason to start fighting
Focusing already on the NHL, it can be said that its best-known facet is the fight in the literal sense of the word. Unfortunately, too much coverage is given to the punches, rather than to the game itself, to such an extent that certain media only pick up news from the NHL (and from ice hockey in general) when a big fuss has formed on the ice or a player has come out very badly. That the NHL is a violent league is a false prejudice and extrapolating this idea to ice hockey in general is a serious mistake because in the rest of the leagues in the world hockey is allowed and seen is much quieter and decaffeinated. Fighting and quality of players apart, whoever has seen a NHL match and a hockey match of any other competition will have noticed the difference. In the NHL the puck is fought harder than in the rest of the leagues and this is where the hits are born. Some of these tackles end up with the injured player and that is why they are trying to stop punishing the most violent hits, such as those in which the rival jumps for the player. We are in favor of penalties for disproportionate hits.
