A mother gets the phone call she dreads, explaining her daughter was seriously injured at school. But the call didn’t come from anyone at the school, and that’s what scares her the most.

Makayla Jones is nine-years-old, but her mother says she began suffering from headaches nearly two years ago after an incident at Waverly Elementary Middle School. She says Makayla was pushed into a brick wall and knocked unconscious after she intervened in a fight between her friend and another girl.

“I just couldn't move, and I couldn't open my eyes,” Makayla tells Project Baltimore.

Makayla says her friend shook her awake and helped her up. When Makayla told a teacher what happened, she says the teacher replied, “Go to the bathroom and wipe all the blood off of your head."
