Metro Detroit is going after the record heat today but it won't last long. As we're typing this article, a cold front is bearing down on Michigan bringing a 25° drop and the threat of severe weather. The good news is that the storms are not expected to arrive until this evening, which should give us a quiet Summer like afternoon.
