Maineville mayor William Shearer killed in crash between lawn mower, pickup

Maineville, Ohio Mayor William Shearer died Monday night after a crash involving a pickup and his riding lawn mower, Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed. Victoria Vogel, 30, was driving her truck when she struck Shearer's lawn mower from behind on Foster Maineville Road around 7:30 p.m., leaving him with a severe head injury, according to OSP. Shearer, 82, was pronounced dead at Miami Valley Hospital after the crash. Vogel was treated at Bethesda Arrow Springs and released.
